About

The Flower Pot is a Robinson's pub and restaurant at 1 Congleton Road, Macclesfield, a family-friendly local serving traditional ales, good pub lunches and a relaxed atmosphere with a beer garden out the back. It is a recognisable landmark for drivers and walkers heading in and out of town on the Congleton Road.

The pub has genuine local heritage: it was built by Robinson's brewery as a purpose-built inter-war roadhouse and first opened in September 1939, the last of a group of six roadside inns the company built in the 1930s in the arts and crafts style. In 2022 it reopened after a refurbishment of almost a million pounds, bringing the historic building up to date while keeping its character.

As a Robinson's house it pours the Stockport brewery's beers, including Unicorn premium ale, alongside European lagers and a wine list, with home-style pub food served in a welcoming, dog-friendly setting.

Typical customers are families and couples in for a relaxed meal, locals from the surrounding streets, and anyone after a proper pub lunch with a pint in pleasant surroundings. Its mix of food, garden and traditional ales makes it a comfortable all-rounder for the south side of Macclesfield.
