Hollin Hall (trading as the Hollin House Hotel) is a Victorian country house hotel on Jackson Lane, on the edge of Bollington in the foothills of the Peak District. The Tudor and Jacobean-styled sandstone building sits in its own gardens with views over the surrounding fields, and offers comfortable bedrooms alongside a restaurant, bar and rooms for private functions.
The house was built around 1870 for the Brooke family, and the architect is thought to have been James Stevens, who designed many of the larger buildings around Macclesfield. After later spells in other uses, the property was converted to a hotel in the 1960s and has welcomed guests to the Happy Valley ever since. Today it offers a range of bedrooms including doubles, twins, family rooms and suites.
Guests come for a country setting that is still only a short drive from Macclesfield, Tytherington and the wider Cheshire countryside, with the Macclesfield Canal and Peak District walks close at hand. The dining room and bar are open to non-residents as well as those staying over.
Typical visitors include couples and families wanting a relaxing countryside break, walkers and cyclists exploring the hills around Bollington, and business travellers needing rooms near Macclesfield. The hotel's grounds and function rooms also make it a popular choice for weddings, christenings, celebrations and conferences.
